BACKGROUND
The 3-story original building was the 10-room Bowditch School that was built in 1870. It was named for the famous navigator, astronomer and mathematician, Nathaniel Bowditch. It was remodeled and enlarged in 1917-1918 with a 2-story addition and functioned as a school until the late 1970s-early 1980s. The building was converted to condominiums in 1985.
